When is Web Summit Rio?

Web Summit Rio will take place from April 15-18, 2024.

Where is Web Summit Rio?

Web Summit Rio will be held in Riocentro, Av. Salvador Allende, 6555 Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro.

Web Summit Rio will join the roster of international events organised by Web Summit, taking to the world stage alongside Web Summit in Lisbon, Collision in Toronto, and Web Summit Qatar in Doha.

Is there a map of the venue?

Will there be parking at the venue?

There will be limited private parking available at the venue. For more details, please visit the Riocentro website.

What security checks will be carried out?

The safety and security of attendees at Web Summit Rio is our primary concern. Security checks will be mandatory when entering venues. These checks will be in adherence with Brazil’s security and health protocols at the time of the event.

Is there a place I can leave my bag?

We’re asking attendees not to bring bags to Web Summit Rio. If you must, please note that only small bags are permitted inside the venue. 

There are a limited number of lockers available at main registration. These are available on a first come first served basis.

Can I enter the venue with a camera?

If an attendee plans to film at any of our 2024 events, we require a full itinerary, in advance, of when and where they intend to film. In general, exhibition stands, the show floor and outdoor open areas are permitted to be filmed. Filming of stages, backstage areas, in the lounges, workshop areas or meeting rooms is strictly prohibited.

Will there be wifi available at Web Summit Rio?

Official event wifi will be freely available throughout Riocentro. 

Please do not use personal hotspots, as they will interfere with onsite network connectivity.

Will food be available onsite?

You can find a range of food and beverage options at Web Summit Rio, with food trucks and vendors across the Riocentro event venue, as well as grab-and-go food and drinks.

What is Food Summit?

Food Summit is an opportunity for attendees to enjoy and celebrate Brazil’s gastronomy and culture.

There will be 73 stalls offering a variety of food and beverages, from local Brazilian dishes to international flavors.

Can I bring my own food to Web Summit Rio?

You are permitted to bring your own food. 

I have special dietary requirements. Will this be catered for?

We have tried to ensure that there are suitable food options available to all attendees, and have worked with the catering suppliers to accommodate a range of dietary requirements, including supplying vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Will the food vendors accept cashless payments?

In order to limit the handling of money during the event, reduce queuing times and improve health and safety standards, all food and beverage catering units inside the venue will be entirely cashless. Please remember to bring your card with you, as payments in cash will not be accepted. 

Will I be able to purchase beverages onsite?

You’ll be able to purchase a range of soft drinks, along with water, coffee and tea. 

Will I be able to bring my own reusable water bottle? 

​​We’re aiming for a plastic-free event, so we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle. There will be water fountains around the venue where you can refill your bottle.

Will there be a lost and found?

Yes. There will be a lost and found located at the Info Point in Pavilion 3.

Is there a translation or transcription service available?

A live audio translation will be available from English to Portuguese and Portuguese to English on main content stages.

Please note: Live audio translation will not be available in Lounges, or for masterclasses, roundtables and press conferences.

The audio translation service can be accessed through the Web Summit Rio app by tapping the menu (=) icon on the top-left corner of the mobile app screen and selecting Live audio translation in either Portuguese or English. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the third-party translation service, LiveVoice. 

Please note: Attendees must bring their own headphones.

There will be no transcription service available.

Is there a closed captioning service available?

Closed captions are available for content on Center Stage only. Captions for this stage can be viewed on the Web Summit Rio event apps. Captions are provided in English only.
