What is the application process?

First, let us know of your interest in the volunteer program here.

In the weeks leading up to the event, you will receive an email asking if you are still interested in the volunteer program. You will need to fill out a form on the Bloomerang volunteer platform to confirm your application.

Our volunteer management team will then begin the selection process. If selected, you will receive another email to choose your shifts.

Once you confirm your availability for those shifts, your Web Summit Rio volunteer position is secured. You will then receive the final information about your roles, including logistics for the event.

Yes. There are certain rules in place to ensure the smooth running of our volunteer program. These include:

  1. After you check in to your shift, please wait at the volunteer hub. A member of staff or a volunteer lead will bring you to where you’re supposed to be. The volunteer team will make sure you are where you need to be at the right time.
  2. Please stay in your assigned role. If you need to take a break, speak with your team manager.
  3. As a volunteer, you are a representative of the event. Please behave in a professional manner while on your shift.
  4. Do not ask to take selfies with any speakers while you are on shift. This is strictly forbidden.
  5. If you need to make a call or use your phone, please do so when you are on your break.
  6. Wear your volunteer t-shirt and make sure you wear comfortable footwear.
  7. We ask that you are flexible with our team, and open to changes in your role. Live events can be unpredictable at times, and we appreciate your support.

When you signed up to volunteer at Web Summit Rio, you agreed to our terms and conditions. Please review them as a reminder of the rules that are in place for volunteers.
